Oh, man, I felt you from the first paragraph. But the news about your prosthesis is marvelous! I am always up for news about improving hearing health, particularly as I watch my mother go stubbornly deafer and deafer, and I begin making plans to avoid that, myself. I'm so happy for you. (And thank you so much for referring to me as "writer and New Yorker cartoonist." It may be the first time anyone (besides me) put "writer" before "cartoonist" in a description of me. So gratifying and encouraging! My cockles are warm!)
Thanks for the good hearing wishes!! I am sending the same right back your way. And now that I know about your important novel project and have followed developments with interest over the past year, I truly do think of you as a writer foremost and a cartoonist and graphic memoirist importantly but secondarily.
I've "liked" so many pictures of Morgan Talty's adorable baby, he's going to think I'm a stalker! I'll be so curious to hear how the hearing thing works out. Age is coming for us all ...
Thanks, Charlotte! This particular hearing thing is sort of age-agnostic, with common onset starting in one's thirties, but I can't argue with you about age coming for us all!
I wish you healing vibes on your ear. Take care
Thank you, Marco!

The Native American art exhibit at the National Gallery that you mentioned is fantastic. Anyone who can get here should plan to see it.
I plan to!

All the more incentive to make this happen! Thank you, Gregory!
Maud, thank you so much! And I hope your ear is healing quickly and is on the way to regaining its full powers. xx
