I'm a new subscriber - but anytime your words arrive will be the right time for me. Thank you for asking. I appreciate the reading recommendations - I, too, love Louis Erdrich. Peaceful holidays.
A nice miscellany of interesting information and links as one has come to expect. Your work has been a great inspiration to me as I’ve been writing about some troublesome ancestors—but also some really cool and interesting ones. I’d love a weekend delivery since most of my various subscriptions don’t publish then. Keep em coming!
I enjoy your offerings whenever they arrive, so please don't feel you are obligated to any schedule. Btw, the link for Sarah Smarsh's article was a repeat of that for "Men of Maize." I'd love to read her article, so if you'd give that link again, I would appreciate it. Thank you for tending the flame this Winter.
I forgot to tell you--I made the galette from the last newsletter, twice, both times with gf flour. It was amazing and so easy. And then I made lentil soup, with a slightly different recipe. So I'm just here to say your recommendations always arrive at the right time--thanks for reminding me that The Sentence is next on my list.
And that Annie Lennox video! Superb!
So glad you enjoyed it!
Thanks for the Erdrich recommendation, from across the way and also in coldland. *sniff, cough*
Oh, you will adore the Erdrich! And I hope you feel better. <3 <3

Althea, it's so good to see you here! Thanks for reading and letting me know about the timing. Peaceful holidays to you too.

Thank you, Gregory—I'm happy to know the newsletter is helpful and arriving at a good time. And I'm so glad you're writing about your ancestors!

Linda, thank you for reading–and for letting me know about the bad link! It should be fixed now. And thank you for your flame-tending, too.

Geeta, this makes me so happy! And it makes me want to make a galette. (Aren't they so tasty and easy??)
Have to add: the mustard really made these special.
Completely agree: Lauren used mustard when she first made a savory galette for me and it really transforms the meal.
